The fabric is some kind of acetate that does not hold the dye. The inside of the package was stained purple and everything I touched -- walls, white shoes, towels, etc. - after touching the dress was covered with purple fingerprints. My nails also turned purple. The only thing that removes the purple (if you're lucky) is nail polish remover. DO NOT BUY! Also, the dress was TINY. It would barely fit a skinny 10 year old. I had to cut the dress in half to get it on and then I realized the dye was spreading everywhere...
