I was looking for a new running shoe after Brooks discontinued the Pureflow. I like a minimal drop shoe, and a Brooks rep actually pointed me toward the Kinvara. It is more lightweight than the Pureflow and seems to have a sole on it that doesn’t wear away as fast as the Pureflow (though to be fair, I did run 3 marathons in my Pureflows). I got a size 8 as recommended in the fit guide. I usually wear a 7.5-8 in street shoes. I might go another half size up next time. My only qualm with the shoe is minor: it doesn’t really have any inner structure. Usually there’s a bit of arch support, but the Kinvara is really flat inside. It doesn’t bother me, but it might to someone else who has arch issues. My runs are generally 3-5 miles long though occasionally up to 13 for a half marathon but never more. I have fairly high (or normal?) arches, average foot width and long toes. These shoes are great. I always buy Saucony but the model I owned before these was Triumph ISO 2 and I really didn't like them, they were hard for my feet to get used to. Kinvara 9s were great from day 1. So great that I decided to buy a couple extra pairs right around the time the next model was released so I could get them a bit cheaper. I almost missed the window but was able to find a couple pairs my size. I hope the Kinvara 10s fit just as well when my pairs eventually wear out.I had a bad sore foot for a long time. Tried all the usual arch supports, different shoes, special foot stores and podiatrist. Nothing worked. Saucony Kinvara are the only shoes I can wear where the pain went away. At times it starts to come back and I order a new pair and everything is all good once again. I use them for running and golf and they are just fine. Because I pretty much have to wear this shoe all the time I do look for the more mellow colors, they can get pretty crazy sometimes. The only reason i gave it four stars is because it is a little small. I can't remember is I ordered the wrong size of if it might run a half size small. Even though this shoe supports me and my knees feel great in them.I love my Kinvaras and have had several editions of them. The 9 felt like it had a little more space in the toebox than the 8 - but only on the top. It doesn't affect the wear of the shoe, but just has a little more fabric on top of the toes than my narrow feet need. Love the ride!I always wear Saucony athletic shoes and love them, and these are great. I walked a 5k on the treadmill the day after I got them. My feet were fine afterwards!I have the aqua color and they are a little brighter than I expected but really pretty.I wear an 8.5 in this brand but an 8.0 in regular shoes.DISCLAIMER: I ordered from Amazon and they were $99, and right after placing my order I found them $40 less. I ordered from the other vendor and refused the Amazon package.Comfortable shoe and very lightweight. I have a wide toe box/bunion and this shoe is a little snug, but mainly on my right foot where I have a bunion. Other than that, the shoes are great. The new kinvara 9 has changed a bit. The forefoot isn't quite as wide as the 8, but it wasn't TOO noticable. The elastic on the tongue and midfoot seems to be a little "tighter" in this version, which actually made for a more comfy fit.I was nervous to try the 9 because I couldn't find any user reviews, but glad I did.I love Kinvaras. I've bought Kinvaras for years because they're so light, I can fit my orthotics in them and they last a good long while. However, this Kinvara model did not stand up at all. Within a few months of wearing them, a big hole wore in the padding at the heel exposing the plastic inside. I, now, have to replace them much sooner than usual as wearing them gives me a blister. What a waste of money. Not sure I want to buy another pair of Kinvaras if they're going to keep wearing out like this.
